The *Bomber Natural Salmon Fly* is a classic surface fly used primarily for Atlantic salmon fishing. This fly is distinguished by its large, buoyant body typically made from natural deer hair, which helps it float high on the water’s surface. The body is often tapered and spun tightly to shed water effectively, maintaining its buoyancy throughout the cast and retrieve.

The Bomber is designed with a hackle that encircles the body, aiding in flotation and creating a lifelike pulsating action in the water. It usually features prominent wings, made from calf tail or similar materials, set upright to mimic the profile of a struggling insect or small rodent. The coloration of the natural pattern tends to be subdued, with variations of browns, tans, and creams, making it an effective choice in clear waters where a realistic presentation is crucial.

Anglers use the Bomber to provoke strikes from salmon by skittering it across the surface, simulating an easy prey item. This tactic is particularly effective during early morning or late evening, when salmon are more likely to feed on surface prey.
