Materials:

2. Thread: Black or blue, 6/0 or 8/0, to match the body and secure the materials.
3. Hot Head: Fluorescent orange bead, often made from brass or tungsten, depending on the desired sink rate. This brightly colored bead acts as an attractor, creating a “hot spot” that grabs the attention of predatory fish.
4. Body:

• Material: Blue fritz chenille. The fritz chenille creates a thick, flashy body that pulsates in the water, imitating the movement of small baitfish or other aquatic prey.
• Tying Tip: Wrap the blue fritz around the hook shank to form a bulky, dense body that gives the fly a strong visual presence in the water.

5. Tail: Blue marabou, tied in long and flowing, extending about 1.5 times the length of the hook shank. The soft marabou fibers move naturally in the water, providing lifelike motion that mimics the tail of a small baitfish or leech.

• Optional Flash: You can add a few strands of crystal flash or flashabou in blue or pearl to the tail for added attraction and shimmer.

6. Ribbing (Optional): Fine silver or gold wire can be counter-wrapped around the body for added durability and a touch of extra flash, though this is not always necessary.
